Prior to establishing Nexus Assurance Shane held executive roles at both JP Morgan and BNY Mellon leading large regional operations teams across EMEA. Shane holds an MBA from the University of Melbourne. Shane established Nexus Assurance in 2020 to create a pragmatic digital governance, compliance and risk control solution which can be easily customised to specific client requirements, and which requires minimal client implementation effort.

Katherine brings over 20 years of international financial services experience with proficiency in risk mitigation and governance. As Director of Operations and member of the Executive Committee, Katherine focuses on driving and optimising operations at Nexus Assurance. She is a chartered accountant and risk and project management professional and has previously held senior positions including the role of Global Head of Internal Audit at Apex Group Ltd.

Eoin Motherway is a career professional in financial services. Post qualification as a chartered accountant with Deloitte, he worked for the main Broker/Dealer entity of Goldman Sachs, holding the positions of Senior Accounting Officer and European Funding Controller. He has extensive experience in running Fund Services Operations in Ireland, Luxembourg and the UK for State Street and BNY Mellon. Eoin was a co-founder of The Asset Management Exchange (AMX) helping to build its Irish domiciled franchise to $60Bn in AUM before being recently purchased by The Carne Group. He is now a practicing Independent Chair and INED to Funds, Management Companies, FinTechs and RegTechs.

Before joining Nexus Assurance Ciarán was Director at Carne leading major software development projects. Ciarán brings a deep understanding of workflow, oversight, and governance solutions. His expertise in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), encompasses agile delivery methodologies, requirements analysis, and solution design processes, enabling him to devise and implement solutions that align with organisational goals, ensuring their smooth integration and successful execution.

John’s ability to navigate the financial regulatory landscape and foster strong client partnerships distinguishes him as a seasoned leader in the finance sector.

Samantha has over 25 years’ experience in the investment and pensions industry covering administration, investment services, change and integration management. She now acts as a full time independent, non-executive director (INED) on a wide range of Boards including fund, MIFID, AIFIM and SuperManco entities both in Ireland and Europe. She is the chair of a number of entities including a Super Manco and a MIFID entity. Samantha was previously a non-executive director for CFA Ireland and was also executive director of Willis Human Capital & Benefits (Willis Towers Watson’s MIFID regulated entity in Ireland). Samantha holds a first class honours degree in commerce from University College Dublin and graduated first in Ireland in the ACCA exams. She is a CFA Charter holder, a holder of the Institute of Directors Diploma in Company Direction where she graduated first in UK & Ireland and was awarded the Graduate of Merit award from the Institute of Directors as well as the LIA’s Pension Trustee Practitioner Gold Medal.

Wilson has spent his career in the financial services industry and was most recently Group Chief Risk Officer for Northern Trust based in Chicago, and was a member of the company’s Management Group. Wilson provided advice and stewardship for over $1 trillion in assets under management and over $10 trillion assets under custody. He formerly spent six years as the CEO for Northern Trust’s business in Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA), prior to which he ran the company’s global funds servicing business. Wilson is currently Executive Chair of thevaluecircle LLP, an advisory firm that works across a variety of sectors including health and social care, financial services, and local government, creating value across governance, leadership, strategy, change and risk management. Wilson served as a member of Court at The University of Greenwich and is currently a Non-Exec Director of Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) who are the world’s leading research charity focused on finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

Steve has over 35 years international operations experience in the asset management industry having worked in Ireland, U.K, Japan, South-East Asia and the U.S. He was previously CEO of StepStone’s AIFM in Ireland, led StepStone Group’s operational due diligence team and was a Partner in the Private Debt team. He is currently a Senior Advisor to StepStone and acts as a Director on their Cayman-based Private Debt funds. Prior to StepStone, Steve was the CFO and COO of a UK-based hedge fund and hedge fund platform. Previously, he held leadership roles with AIG, BISYS and KB Associates. Steve is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in biotechnology from Dublin City University.
